OFFICIAL website for the annual Isle of Wight Jazz Festival

Welcome

Coolest and Classiest Capital of Jazz in the Deep South of the UK, sublimely set by the southern seashores with "beachy retro charm" (Harpers Bazaar), hosts an iconic annual jazz festival with unbuttoned charisma amongst Ventnor's quirky shops, award winning eateries and 'tangierois' uber-cool.

Cutting edge jazz line-up full of 'names' - Innovative programming for those who know and a mixture of today's jazz for those who want to find out - world-mix of today's young and established talents – jazz for the young and young at heart - with a few old favourites, a few rising names and a few unknowns all rustled up into a melting pot that is jazz for today.

The IOW Jazz Festival was due to take place on its usual date in April 2010 which fell on the 9th-11th this year. Unfortunately, due to events beyond the organisers' control (against which we have had to take action), the festival cannot be held in Ventnor in April 2010 as usual. We are unable to discuss this is detail at present but we hope to be in a position to supply a full explanation and any alternative arrangements for the Isle of Wight Jazz Festival soon.

We look forward to introducing you to changes in our future Isle of Wight Jazz Festivals and to welcoming our regular and all new customers to the excitement of future events. Thank you to the many hundreds of you who have contacted us enquiring about tickets recently. We will be in touch  again soon with future dates and we thank you for your support for jazz and the Island's tourist industry, in particular the Ventnor businesses who will miss you in April.

CONCERTS NEWS (not jazz!), we are pleased to announce that we helped raise £1,200 for St Catherine's Charity at a recent event promoted by Sigma Events Management Ltd, featuring The Pretty Things, who rocked Ventnor Winter Gardens for charity. Many thanks to the bands, DJ & everyone who gave their time for free or reduced the price of supplies and helped make a good night happen in mid January with rock royalty on stage.
