BONCHURCH:

The Leconfield: "Where nothing is overlooked but the sea" this friendly hotel in Upper Bonchurch on the main road into Ventnor itself is a non-smoking hotel for adults with a restaurant that also welcomes non-residents. Bonchurch Manor: nine-bedded country house accommodation just up the hill from East Dene. A relaxed and peaceful environment, known for friendliness, hospitality and good food. Bonchurch Manor hosts a speciality South Indian restaurant - The Tiffin Room - where you can taste the delicious blend of freshly ground spices, specialist herbs and fresh organic island produce. East Dene: (Allnatt Centres) Fascinating building with the majority of its interiors untouched over the centuries. Former home of the poet Swinburne, East Dene is in Bonchurch at the Eastern end of Ventnor. It is a residential centre for school field trips and students mostly but also offers hostel style accommodation to groups attending the jazz festival and is indeed the jazz festival venue. Winterbourne: Right opposite the walls of East Dene in Bonchurch, Winterbourne is a country house of great charm and character and is located in one of the most beautiful and tranquil settings on the island. The Burlington: The Burlington Hotel is convenient for the jazz festival. The hotel stands in a quiet elevated position commanding panoramic sea views and along the coast of Ventnor. Spyglass Inn: Award winning pub on the Ventnor Esplanade headland with three self-catering appartments which, being right where the sea lashes the rocks, are quite possibly the most dramatic and romantically located rooms in the town. Burwynns Guest House. Nestling in the heart of the undercliff, "Burwynns" offers accommodation with sea glimpses in lush tranquil surroundings. Luccombe Hall Country House Hotel: Originally built in 1870 as the summer home for the Bishop of Portsmouth this lovely family-run hotel commands an enviable cliff-top location. The Grand View Restaurant and many of the bedrooms enjoy glorious sea views. The aptly named Grand View Tea Gardens offer spectacular views accross Sandown Bay to the distant West Sussex coast.
